• “Jesus, who so often says “Whoever loves Me…” “Do you love Me?” is concerned about our LOVE! He is concerned about a special kind of love…He who has loved us so much wants to possess us completely, with everything we are and have. Jesus gave Himself wholly and completely for us. Now His love is yearning for us to surrender ourselves and everything that we are to Him, so that He can really be our “first love” – Basilea Schlink

Source of my life’s refreshing springs by Anna L. Waring

“Thou maintainest my lot.” — Psalm 16:5.

Source of my life’s refreshing springs,
Whose presence in my heart sustains me,
Thy love appoints me pleasant things,
Thy mercy orders all that pains me.

If loving hearts were never lonely,
If all they wish might always be,
Accepting what they look for only,
They might be glad, but not in Thee.

Well may Thy own beloved, who see
In all their lot their Father’s pleasure,
Bear loss of all they love, save Thee,
Their living, everlasting treasure.

Well may Thy happy children cease
From restless wishes prone to sin,
And, in Thy own exceeding peace,
Yield to Thy daily discipline.

We need as mnch the cross we bear,
As air we breathe, — as light we see;
It draws us to Thy side in prayer,
It binds us to our strength in Thee.

Verse of the Day

[Love Your Enemies] “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. — Matthew 5:43-45 (NKJV)
