• “My soul was filled and overwhelmed with light, and love, and joy in the Holy Ghost, and seemed just ready to go away from the body. I could scarcely refrain from expressing my joy aloud, in the midst of the service. I had in the mean time, an overwhelming sense of the glory of God, as the Great Eternal All, and of the happiness of having my own will entirely subdued to his will. I knew that the foretaste of glory, which I then had in my soul, came from him, that I certainly should go to him, and should, as it were, drop into the Divine Being, and be swallowed up in God.” – Sarah Edwards, wife of Jonathan Edwards

The Secret Depths by Michelle

There used to be this secret place
that I harbored grief and despair.
My own little refuge where I was
    bound by grudging and resentments.
A secret place I called my own
    full of bitterness and anger.

But now….
….old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  2 Cor. 5:17

There is this place in which
I enjoy the secret riches of Christ.  Is. 45:3
My refuge, my hightower
a stronghold in the storms of life.  Nah. 1:7
A secret place filled with
Christ within, my hope of glory. Col. 1:27

A wellspring of life.
Rest for the weary.
Hope for the hurting.

My Deliverer from Evil.
My Rescuer in the Night.
Christ Jesus,
And in Him Alone
I am able to stand.

So bury the hatchet and marry Christ, He is Lord of all in this life.

Pursue peace with all men.
Bring honour, where honour is due.

Count it all dung, so that I may win Christ.

So turn to Christ and let Him be your Saviour instead of  YOU.

  • “In case any are puzzled by the different translations from which I draw strength and help and delight, it is like this: In studying any object with the microscope we use different lenses and turn the mirror in various ways; each change brings out some new wonder and beauty. So it is for those who are not Greek or Hebrew scholars, and who use the work of scholars to open the meaning of the exhaustible Word–the Bible is richer than any single version can fully show.” – Amy Carmichael

Verse of the Day

And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. So they said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet: ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you shall come a Ruler Who will shepherd My people Israel.’ ” — Matthew 2:4-6 (NKJV)
