• “Let us ask that the Lord Jesus would so perfectly tune our spirits to the keynote of His exceeding great love, that all our unconscious influence may breathe only of that love, and help all with whom we come in contact to obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Frances Ridley Havergal

Do not trust in Princes! by Michelle Garver

Ps. 146:3,4
Do not trust in princes, in mortal man, in whom there is no salvation.
His spirit departs, he returns to the earth, In that very day his thoughts perish.

These are the consequences of becoming carnal, even unto spiritual men. (1 Cor. 3:4)

“His spirit departs” —-We quench the Holy Spirit
“he returns to the earth” —-we become earthly and perhaps even sensual, worldly
“his thoughts perish” —-our earthly thoughts only bring death, because we have not the mind of the Spirit to keep us

“It is the Lord who gives the increase.” Spiritual enlightenment and revelation can only come by way of the Holy Spirit. The wisdom of God must come from God. No earthly wisdom will do.  “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. “ 1Co 2:5

God is a jealous God and He does not give His glory to another. If we are His children, we are also His glory. So do not give to another man, that which He has bought and paid for.

This is another reason why Jesus told Nicodemus, that he “must be born again.” Without the Spirit, Nicodemus would not understand, nor would he see. It is not by man’s wisdom or enlightenment that we can know or see. This is old testament believing. The Great High Priest has come! His name is Jesus and He gives life and revelation to ALL who come and ask.

How can one be saved by another with the same sinful flesh? Only Jesus who was without sin could break this yoke of bondage. He is the Perfect sacrifice for all sinbecause He was without sin. Only a man stronger than sin can break the power of sin. (Mk 3:23-29)

The Lord is your strength, and He is the saving strength of his anointed. Psalm 28:8

So this is our joy, that He who was despised and rejected, felt the cruelty of men, and was physically tortured, still was without sin. And He who lived this life, imparted this same grace to us. That even in our struggle, our pain, our trials, sin WILL NOT prevail, unless we are unbelieving. It is because of Him that their is still joy, hope, and rest in all of life’s toil and snares. He knows our every need and care. He is the prince that has come to save. There is no other name by which we can be saved.

Verse of the Day

[Glory in the Highest] Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. — Luke 2:8-11 (NKJV)
