• “O God, my heart doth long for Thee, let me die, let me die…unto the world and its applause, to all the customs, fashions, laws, of those who hate the humbling cross” – Janette Palmiter

Prayers Ancient and Modern 09/03

Grant, we beseech Thee, O Lord God, unto all Thy servants, that they may continually enjoy health both of mind and body, may be delivered from present sadness, and enter into the joy of Thine eternal gladness—Amen.

Roman Breviary.

Grant unto us, Almighty God, by Thy good Spirit, that we, feeling towards Thee as children, and filled full of trust, and hope, and faith, may remain so fixed, that, in the dark, we may trust where we cannot see, and hope where all seems doubtful, ever looking unto Thee as our Father that doeth all things well, our Father that ordereth all. Thus may we, knowing that all things are in Thy hands, abide Thy time, patiently doing the work Thou hast given us to do—Amen.

George Dawson.
