• “But the misfortune is that people wish to direct God instead of resigning themselves to be directed by Him. We wish to take the lead, and to follow in a way of their own selection instead of submissively and passively following where God sees fit to conduct them. And hence it is, that many souls who are called to the enjoyment of God himself and mot merely to the gifts of God, spend all their lives in pursuing and in feeding on little consolations.” – Madame Guyon

Can God Be Trusted? by Nancy Leigh DeMoss 06/08/11

“You know, we’ve prayed about this for months, and it’s pretty clear that I need to quit my job and take the opportunity.”

“Well, where’s the money going to be coming from a year from now? Don’t you think you ought to figure that out first?”

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: Do you really believe that God can be trusted?

“I want to see the plan all laid out!”

Nancy: Sometimes I need to remind myself, “God has never once let me down, and He’s not going to start now!” God always keeps His promises. And that means we can trust the words of Hebrews 13. God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Are there any steps God’s calling you to take? Do they seem too unpredictable? Remember that God truly is all you need. He’s faithful, and He will never leave you.

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

Congratulations on your new web design. It looks bright and calm. My wife & I just happened to click on this post from your facebook. This is truly timely for us, as we're headed for new "steps that God is calling" us to take this Summer. Thank you for posting this.

  • “Sin is more dangerous than wild bears, more deadly than blazing forest fires. Ask Nebuchadnezzar, who lost his mind because he refused to deal with his pride. Ask Samson, who was reduced to a pathetic shred of a man because he never got control over the lusts of his flesh. Ask Achan and Ananias and Sapphira, who all lost their lives over “small,” secret sins.” – Nancy Leigh DeMoss
