• “If I am content to heal a hurt slightly, saying ‘Peace, peace,’ where is no peace; if I forget the poignant word ‘Let love be without dissimulation’ and blunt the edge of truth, speaking not right things but smooth things, then I know nothing of Calvary love.” – Amy Carmichael

Janice McBride

“In 1976 Richard and I put our trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins. Our marriage was on the brink of divorce and I was in very bad shape physically, mentally and emotionally. Through reading and applying God’s Word daily, repenting of my many sins and forgiving those who had sinned against me, Jesus set me free from the prisons of hate and bitterness and has turned our marriage into something beautiful. My heart’s desire is to share with others how Jesus set me free and to be able to help others get set free also. God is no respecter of persons and what he did for me He can do for anyone. His Word has the answers for every area of our lives and these messages share practical ways of seeing and applying His truth.” Janice McBride

The name “Preparing Christ’s Bride” tells where Janice’s primary passion is. It is to help those in the church to glorify God by learning how to love Jesus with all their heart and by getting set free from all bondages.

Her testimony of God’s power of forgiveness and healing from abuse and sin motivates many to deep life changes. Using only the Word of God for teaching and her own life an example, she shows that one’s hurts and sins of the past do not have to control the present or future.

Born in Scotland, Janice lives in St. Louis, Missouri with her husband Richard. They have worked with and discipled people from all backgrounds. They teach His Word internationally to people of many denominations. They minister on military bases, in prisons, in churches and retreats to people of all ages and backgrounds.

If you feel led, please send contributions to Preparing Christ’s Bride Ministries or send a word of encouragement and thanks.

“I’m sure many will not agree with this, but Richard and I have been led of the Lord to not become a not-for-profit organization. So there would be no donation receipt. All donations get plowed back into God’s kingdom towards helping other people glorify Christ in their lives. ”  — Janice McBride, Preparing Christ’s Bride Ministries

Bible Study

Below are several study series of short Bible lessons (about 3-4 minutes to read) that went out every Sunday in English and German/English for several years. The lessons are transcripts of many of seven years of radio programs Janice did in the St. Louis area. Then they went to an email Bible Study list every week. They were being translated into German, Swedish, Russian, Finnish and other languages and were sent through several other countries.

God’s Faithfulness in My Daily Battles (42 lessons) (Also in German)
One of the main things that separates Christians from non-believers is how we handle life’s jolts. Join us in this study of Psalm 27, observing how King David handled pressure from his enemies and, in turn, learn how we can handle pressure in our own lives.

The Joy of Obeying God’s Word (84 lessons) (Also in German)
Janice teaches this series on Psalm 119 using the psalmists love for the Word to reflect her own. Obedience is not to be a trudgery, but a delight. The Word can captivate our entire being if we let it. The Bible says that the ways of the flesh are hard but in God’s presence is fullness of joy. Join us in a journey with the lover of our souls.

The Lord is My Shepherd (35 lessons) (Also in German)
Janice teaches this series on Psalm 23 using characteristics of sheep and shepherds that she has learned from her home country of Scotland and her own relationship with the Good Shepherd. These teachings can impact your own relationship with Jesus and with others in your life.

God’s Virtuous Woman (64 lessons) (Also in German)

The Bible tells us that Proverbs 31 is written by King Lemuel about what his mother taught him. This chapter is not just for women. It is also for parents and grandparents to train children, and for young men to know what to seek in a wife. Single women can use the same principles in their relationship with God and authority figures.

Good morning Janice and Richard. :) I was sitting here thinking of the mentors in my life aand you were definitely one of them! I'm retired from teaching at a Christian school now and Marlin and I have the privilege of being responsibility for a Bible College at a prison in Fredonia KY. I've been teaching there for 7 years. Marlin does the administrative work. Thank you both for our love and planting God's Word in our hearts. We love you.
