• “Experience has taught me that the Shepherd is far more willing to show His sheep the path than the sheep are to follow. He is endlessly merciful, patient, tender, and loving. If we, His stupid and wayward sheep, really want to be led, we will without fail be led. Of that I am sure.” – Elisabeth Elliot

Living Like God is Alive by Nancy Leigh DeMoss 03/23/12

Nancy Leigh DeMoss: I once met a woman who described her life in this way:

“I was proud of my reputation and my position. I was known at the country club where I was an officer, known among the elite of the community, and known as a leader at my church. But I was unteachable. Although I was a leader, I wasn’t in the Word. The one thing I did know was how to play church. I knew how to pretend.”

Nancy: Things changed when she attended a Bible study and was pierced by three words: “God is alive.” She realized that she’d been living as if God was actually dead.

Romans 8:11 says, “If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.”

Are you living like God is alive?

With Seeking Him, I’m Nancy Leigh DeMoss.

  • “There are those who insist that it is a very bad thing to question God. To them, ‘why?’ is a rude question. That depends, I believe, on whether it is an honest search, in faith, for His meaning, or whether it is the challenge of unbelief and rebellion.” – Elisabeth Elliot

Verse of the Day

[Confidence and Compassion in Prayer] Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. — 1 John 5:14-15 (NKJV)
